City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> January 24,2018 <br /> Motion by Council Member Montain, seconded by Council Member Koski to Adopt the <br /> Social Media Policy as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> 1. Monthly Administrator's Report <br /> Administrator Statz questioned whether Council Members had any comments or questions <br /> regarding his presented report. He reported that the City received a Letter of Credit from United <br /> Properties regarding the Rehbein property/Fairview Street. He reiterated that Staff would be <br /> discussing an overlay following construction if that were to transpire with the property located <br /> within Centerville. <br /> Council Member Koski questioned the status of the Peltier Estates development and City <br /> Attorney Glaser stated that Sharper Homes anticipated the beginning phases of development to <br /> commence in April or May. Administrator Statz stated that Staff remains in contact with them. <br /> Mayor Paar stated that at a recent meeting of the Centennial Fire Steering Committee they again <br /> appointed MMKR to complete the 2017 audit, would be requesting RFPs for next year's auditing <br /> services, that the Centennial Fire District's ISO rating decreased to a 3 allowing property/home <br /> owners a reduction in their insurance rates. Council Member Love stated that the change will <br /> become effective in March and that an appointment should be arranged with individual agents. <br /> Mayor Paar stated that the District had a budget surplus of$44,000 due to the sale of a fire truck <br /> and increase in State Aid. He reported that discussion continues regarding the utilization of duty <br /> crews with the Chief continuing to research alternative avenues for assurance of coverage. <br /> Mayor Paar stated that the Festival Committee recently met where Mr. Pat Branch accepted <br /> being the Chair of the Committee. He reported that discussions took place regarding donations, <br /> shared services, budget, parade, tiers for donations (gold, silver and bronze) and advertising. He <br /> also reported that the run would be coordinated and operated by the Parks & Recreation <br /> Committee and they desired to focus on the local runners, no Race Coordinator would be needed, <br /> Mr. Tom Lee will be again coordinating the music in the park series and possibly providing <br /> bands for Saturday and Sunday of the festival with little or no fee. Mr. Ben Fehrenbacher and <br /> Council Member Love have both agreed to organize the parade, fireworks will be back at <br /> LaMotte with a show that will be better than last year, Staff has forwarded necessary documents <br /> to secure the road closure permit, Facebook and other media outlets will be utilized for <br /> advertising that are inexpensive and that another meeting is scheduled for February. <br /> Mayor Paar stated that the Lions fishing contest is scheduled for February 17, 2018 and more <br /> information may be received from the Lions Facebook page or the City's web site. <br /> Mayor Paar stated that the Parks & Recreation Committee's second Sledding & Skate Night will <br /> be held on February 10, 2018 at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park and more information could be <br /> obtained through Twitter or the City's web site. <br /> Page 6 of 7 <br />
