LaMotte Park infrastructure (water, sewer, elec:tric:al, parking, etc.)
2. Budget and financial information
8ec:trk:ity at LaMotte Park
The question before Council is should electrical improvements be made at
laMotte Park. At the request of the Parks and Recreation Committee, Council di-
rected the City Engineer, at our last meeting in January, to provide preliminary cost
estimates for infrastructure improvements at the park. Items that were discussed are
a proposed concession stand, lighting for the ball fields, paving the parking lot, and wa-
ter and sanitation for toilets.
Of particular interest is electrical service to support the Fete de Lacs celebration
and to light the ball fields and scoreboard. Council has also been informed that a re-
gional softball tournament with at least 32 teams will play at these fields during our
City festival.
Dollars to pay for the project can come from two sources:
I. General Fund
2. Park and Recreation fund
This project has not been identified in the plans of either fund. Therefore, Council
will hold a workshop to look at funding sources and discuss the improvements to
laMotte Park.
I am asking that the Park and Recreation Committee attend our workshop on the
2'F' and if you are interested in attending please come. We will have a time after the
discussions for brief comments, but the primary purpose is to present information and
let Council ask questions.
