Waterfalls, Singing Birds &: Blooming Flowers Found in Centerville! Winter blues getting to you? Feeling trapped in your home? Over-due for that warm weather get-away? Folks, it's right here in your own backyard! Wel~ actually Main Street, but it's still in Cen- terville! I'm referring to Goetz Land- scape and Garden Center. Owners, Joe and Gina Goetz began their business in the landscape Industry seven years ago, from their bedroom of- fice in a small apartment in White Bear lake. It's quite obvious from just driving past their current location, that business has outgrown their original office! If you have only been driving past, I suggest that you make the time to stop into the Gar- den Center. Upon entering the spacious, indoor Garden Center, one can feel the stresses of daily life quickly diminish and replaced by the wonderful, soothing aroma and sounds that permeates the air. The Gar- den Center features a smaI~ but efficient floral design center. Creative and helpful staff are ready to supply you with a spe- cial arrangement of flowers, greenery and plants, perfect for a housewarming gift, shower, or just something special to bring home to say, "I Love You" or "Spring is Corningl" A wide varietJ of L' Earth Da,y f~J~ 200 1 ~~ is coming! ~aturda,y,)\priI21, Special events throughout Centerville and at Wargo Nature Center unique gifts are on display Include: bird feeders, bird seedlfood and supplies; garden sculptures and tools; gazing globes; decorative plant- ers; garden benches and trellis's; books; and wind chimes. There is also a wonderful selection of candles; bath soaps, salts and lotions; handmade. soap; fragrances oils and potpourri; note cards; and beautiful Indoor and outdoor water fountains. Operating year round, Goetz Garden Center offers many different services in addi- tion to the indoor Garden Center. Snow plowing and snow removal services, along with seminars and landscape planning are available during the winter months. This is a good time of year to begin planning your landscaping ideas for your yard. At Goetz Garden Center, numerous hours are invested into working with your ideas and offering suggestions in customizing plans just for you. Beginning this Spring, Goetz will offer lawn care and mainte~ce services. This is a new division and they are already busy scheduling for the upcoming season. Plans are in the making for the expansion of their water garden departmeht. Well attended seminars have been taking place at Goetz Garden Center, bringing people not only from Centerville, but surrounding areas as well. Upcoming seminars that will be occurring throughout the year will be: Bird Feeding (Feb. 200 I), Plants & Planting, Annual & Perennial Bas- kets, Retaining Wall Construction, Water Gardening, and Herb Gardening. Schedules for the seminars will be available soon at the Garden Center. They believe that they offer a good value for their customer and that is why their business has grown so well over the past few years. Goetz Garden Center is open Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.rn. to 7:00 p.rn. and on Sunday from 10:00 a.rn. to 5:00 p.rn. So escape from the cold, dreary winter day and stop in to Goetz Garden Center and bring home some things that will remind you of warm, summer days! 2001 Centerville Lakelce Fishing Contest On Saturday, February 10th, the Centerville Uons sponsored their First Annual Ice Fishing Contest on Centerville Lake. Sixty participants paid their $5.00 registration fee to hopefully win one of many fabulous prizes that the Uons had gathered. The contest ran from Noon tin 3:00 p.rn. Shannon Dupre was awarded the Grand Prize of 2 bunk, 4 hole, weekend Ice House rental at Flagship Inn and Marina, 6.5 miles north of Isle, MN with her catch of a 3 lb. Northern. Prizes were given for the three biggei' fish caught and The turnout exceeded the Uons expectations with the weather con,,' tions for the day. .
