The children . <br />were pthered, all dressed with what. <br />looked like "new" clothes, complete <br />with backpacks loaded with much more <br />weight than what looked Dke to me <br />..healthy". As the children with these <br />heavy backpacks lumbered to. the bus <br />stop, ~r nose and eyes pointed to- <br />ward the ground, I couldn't help but <br />wonder how this would affect them as <br />they 1J'f!N older. Speaking from experl- <br />ence, back pain is not a pleaSant feeling! <br />Once to the bus stop. the backpack was <br />thrown to the ground with I'm sure a <br />loud sigh of relief! <br />During my observation, several of <br />the children left the comer, running fun <br />speed. I suppose they realized they.had <br />forgotten something back home. Lunch <br />money, lunch. a paper airpIanel What- <br />ever it was, it must have been impor- <br />tant. <br />A part of me felt sorry for the chll- <br />dren.
