WhIle they are
children, however, they need to be responsi~ for their
actions no matter what age they are.
.1 hear parents complain so often about how hectic their
schedule is. That they ant driving their children from activ-
Ity to activity every day of the week and have very little
II family time, if ever. Is this what we want to teach our chiI-
-, drenl To be "on the go" all of the timel As I watched the
children running back and forth from the bus stop to their
houses, I rearJZed that I am very guilty of that same thing.
:rrying to keep up full speed and do everything at once. is
often as I've tried. simply does not work. I'll share with you
some of the methods I've used to make my day produc:tlve.
near stress-he, and last what seems to be a long time.
the alarm 1/2 hour early and enjoy a bike ride or brisk
walk. Ask (preferably the day beforel) a friend or a family
member to join you!
a nutritious breakfast and enjoy eating together as a
family.
everyone Is out the door to school etc.. I sit down to
write a To Do Use. Starting with the less desirable things
to do!
ftII in my daylweek whh shuHown time, where I can-be

by myself to enjoy quiet. Finding an island on the St. Croix
to paddle to and enjoy time to read or hike has been one of
my favorites. However, more locally, there are some great
paths to walk or bike on. Editor's note: PIeose watch where
you wcrIk as you migfJt find yourself deGning your shoes more
than once fi'om stepping in "poo piles'*.
_ .stIIy as this may sound, I do find enjoyment in mowing the
lawn! Don't get any crazy ideas and start calling me to
mow your over-arown field. where I live Is enough for me
to enjoy occasl0naiiy! That Is until I land in a "poo pile"
from obviously a good sized dog who had been running
loose. Have I mentioned the Animal Ordinancel
.Life Is short. slow down and enjoy It; Set the uample to
JOUr children how to enjoy life; respect property: respect
themselves - and ochers. And make it a point to be fiunIIJar
with Centel6t's Ordinances. Old I mention that there Is
an Animal Ordinancel

Concerned with
35E & Cty.
