She felt that a dub would keep her disciplined In reading, and as a new resident to.. CentervIIIe, It would pr0- vide an opportunity to meet odter women In the community. Contrary to her thought that no one would re- spond. or people would think It was a silly idea, several womenshowecl up for the first meeting and the Neighbor- hood ChristIan Women's Book Oub was born. The Club began meeting at various members homes, moved the meetings to a local coffee house and currendy meet at Uving Waters Lutheran Church in Uno Lakes. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each nionth at 9: 15 a.m. during the school year. The women meet once during the summer. Usually eight to ten women, ages thirty to sixty, not only from Center- viDe. but neighboring communities as well come to each meeting prepared to discuss the book .assigned.. Books are either written by a Christian author or of a ChristIan topic. Twice a year, a vote ..Is held to determine what books wiD be read for the following six months. The.Oub takes pride in the aea- tivity of some of their meetings. Last Spring, a Tea Party was held In the beautiful flower garden at one of the Neighborhood Christian Women's Book Club at the Spring Tea meeting.
