She states that <br />the group is non-cIenomlnatlonal and <br />much Is added to the meetings with the <br />variety of each member.s life experi- <br />ences. The next meeting Is scheduled <br />for Wednesday, September 20 at 9: 15 <br />a.m. at UvIng Waters Lutheran Church <br />located at 865 BIrch Street In Uno <br />Lakes. She felt that a dub would keep <br />her disciplined In reading, and as a new <br />resident to.. CentervIIIe, It would pr0- <br />vide an opportunity to meet odter <br />women In the community. Contrary <br />to her thought that no one would re- <br />spond. or people would think It was a <br />silly idea, several womenshowecl up <br />for the first meeting and the Neighbor- <br />hood ChristIan Women's Book Oub <br />was born. <br />The Club began meeting at various <br />members homes, moved the meetings <br />to a local coffee house and currendy <br />meet at Uving Waters Lutheran <br />Church in Uno Lakes. Meetings are <br />held on the third Wednesday of each <br />nionth at 9: 15 a.m. during the school <br />year. The women meet once during <br />the summer. <br />Usually eight to ten women, ages <br />thirty to sixty, not only from Center- <br /> <br />viDe. but neighboring communities as <br />well come to each meeting prepared to <br />discuss the book .assigned.. Books are <br />either written by a Christian author or <br />of a ChristIan topic. Twice a year, a <br />vote ..Is held to determine what books <br />wiD be read for the following six <br />months. <br />The.Oub takes pride in the aea- <br />tivity of some of their meetings.
