CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> BOARD OF APPEAL & EQUALIZATION AND CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br /> April 25, 2018 <br /> 6:30 p.m. <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held their annually required Board <br /> of Appeal & Equalization meeting on April 25, 2018 at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br /> PRESENT: Mayor Jeff Paar <br /> Council Member Steve King <br /> Council Member Russ Koski /1 PPI- �V 1 V Cfy <br /> Council Member D. Love �1 N N 11 <br /> Council Member Matt Montain <br /> ABSENT: None. <br /> STAFF: City Attorney Kurt Glaser <br /> City Administrator/Engineer Mark Statz <br /> City Assessor Ken Tolzmann <br /> ........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ <br /> Mr. Ken Tolzmann introduced himself and Ms. Diana Stellmach, Anoka County (Property Tax <br /> & Records). <br /> He provided Council with an overview of statistics for the past year which included qualified <br /> versus unqualified sales, values and pertinent information involving values of homes for the <br /> community along with avenues for residents to appeal their market values. He stated that there <br /> were 64 qualified sales from October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2017. He stated that the tax <br /> base rose by 7.2% and that to date there are 12 qualifying sales which will be accounted toward <br /> 2019. He reported that the median sale price for a home in Centerville went from $235,000 in <br /> 2015 to $243,000 in 2017 and he believes that the City will continue with an overall growth in in <br /> the market values for 2019. <br /> Mr. Tolzmann stated that he has received one appeal and requested to have it noted in the <br /> records. Ms. Sandra Arnold, PIN #R15-31-22-44-0005, 7244 Main Street appealed the value of <br /> her home as the home received water damage to the basement, all amenities were removed and it <br /> is unknown when the basement would be constructed again. Mr. Tolzmann stated upon <br /> confirmation of the basement being now unfinished and he recommended a reduction of$9,900 <br /> in valuation ($228,000 to $218,900). <br /> Mr. Tolzmann thanked the Council for his ability to perform services to the City of Centerville. <br /> Motion by Council Member King, Seconded by Council Member Montain to Authorize the <br /> Reduction in Valuation for PIN #R15-31-22-44-0005 of$9,000 ($228,000 to $218,900) as <br /> Recommended. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />
