City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> April 25,2018 <br /> Several members of Council felt that several quotes should have been received with at least one <br /> being from the State Purchasing Cooperative. <br /> Motion by Mayor Paar, seconded by Council Member King to Table the Item Until Such <br /> Time Additional Quotes are Contained for Consideration with at Least One Quote from <br /> the State Purchasing Cooperative. <br /> Council Member Montain requested that additional quotes be obtained prior to the submitted <br /> quote expiring. <br /> All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> Mayor Paar requested a quick refresher on when the City was required to obtain bids and quotes. <br /> Attorney Glaser stated that it is always best to obtain at least two (2) quotes and competitive bids <br /> starting at a value of$100,000, however a best practice would be at a level of$50,000. <br /> Discussion ensued regarding cooperative purchases and whether the City took advantage of <br /> them. It was stated that on several items in the past such as salt for streets, software purchases, <br /> street sweeping services, etc. Administrator Statz stated that later in the year, the City will <br /> propose purchasing trucks for Public Works and utilize the state bids for that item due to the <br /> value of the purchases and the State's completed research on competitive pricing which is how <br /> companies are placed on the Purchasing Cooperative. <br /> 3. Acceptance of Centerville Lions P & R Donation <br /> Administrator Statz stated that generally the Centerville Lions make an annual donation to the <br /> Parks & Recreation Committee. Council Member Montain thanked the Lions for their <br /> generosity. <br /> Motion by Council Member Montain <br /> Council Member Koski stated that he attended the Lions Cadillac Dinner and felt that they host a <br /> tremendous event and they rarely look for recognition. He also stated that they are a dedicated <br /> organization and are very important to the community. <br /> seconded by Council Member Koski to Accept the Centerville Lions Parks & Recreation <br /> Donation of$500 as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> Mayor Paar stated that the Lions host many events throughout the year and desired to thank them <br /> for making Centerville a great place to live. <br /> X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> Administrator Statz provided Council with his report and stated that he was willing to answer <br /> any questions. He stated that his sixth (6th) month review is fast approaching. Council chose to <br /> schedule his review for the second meeting in May.
