<br />[-- p~e2~~=-=-=~~~_~e~e~lIe Pre;ervmg th;~stl"~~~OCUSing on the Futu~_ <br /> <br />I <br />l~ommunity Se-:vice~ Off~c;er: ~ic~~las Miller <br /> <br />The first member of his family <br />in Law Enforcement, CSO Nicholas <br />Miller entered into Law Enforce- <br />ment nearly four years ago through <br />the Minnesota Law Enforcement <br />Explorer Association with the <br />Blaine Police Department, The Ex- <br />plorer Association is a division of <br />the Boy Scouts of America, Want- <br />ing to make a difference in the <br />world and his enjoyment in working <br />with people were factors in Miller's <br />choice in his career. <br />Miller was accepted by the Cir- <br />cle Pines/Lexington Police Depart- <br />ment over a year ago as a full-time <br />Community Services Officer, He is <br />presently attending SKI LLS, which <br />provides the education required to <br />become a Minnesota Police Officer <br />and plans on graduating in May <br />with intentions of obtaining a posi- <br />tion as a Police Officer. <br /> <br /> <br />:\1i11er encourages neighbors to <br />get to know one another and watch <br />out for each other to aid in the re- <br />duction and prevention of neighbor- <br />hood crime. He also advises resi- <br />dents to get involved with <br />Neighborhood Crime Watch groups, <br />Information may be obtained by <br />calling t he Police Department at <br />(612) 784-2501. <br /> <br />November J 999 <br /> <br />Ordinance Adopted by <br /> <br />City Council <br />At the October 13th meeting, the <br />City Council adopted an ordinance giv- <br />ing the Circle Pines/Lexington Police <br />Department Community Service Offi- <br />cers/Crime Prevention Officers, or <br />other agencies that provide the City <br />with law enforcement, the power to is- <br />sue citations. The Ordinance took ef- <br />fect on October 26.
