City of Centerville <br /> Parks&Recreation Committee <br /> May 2,2018 <br /> declined the recommendation for appointment to the position. The City is currently <br /> accepting applications for the position. <br /> 2. Gaga Ball Pit <br /> The committee has considered the purchase of a Gaga Ball Pit for installation at LaMotte <br /> Park. The pit would be portable and would be placed in/on the hockey rink during the <br /> summer and stored inside over the winter. It is recommended that a 3' fall zone be added <br /> around the outside of the pit. <br /> The Committee Members were provided with specific information regarding the sizes <br /> and capacity, plus how a pit is constructed, along with how to play the game. There was <br /> discussion regarding options of locations, sizes, materials to be used, type of surface and <br /> the cost of various sizes of the pits. Mr. Palzer was asked to check on the most suitable <br /> location(s) and the price of a 15' pit. It was the consensus of the Committee to add <br /> this item to 2019 of the 5 Year Plan of Park Improvement Proiects List. <br /> 3. Review of Draft 2040 Comprehensive Plan — Parks and Trails Chapter & <br /> Map <br /> Additional changes/additions: change Springs to Spring, grills to grill, add McBride <br /> basketball court. <br /> Motion by Committee Member Waeghe, seconded by Committee Member <br /> Amundsen to approve the draft of the 2040 Comprehensive Plan—Parks and Trails <br /> Chapter & May with the additions and changes suggested above and at the April 4, <br /> 2018 Committee Meetings. All in Favor. MOTION CARRIED <br /> 4. ADA Compliant Portable Toilet in Trailside Park <br /> The motion, a recommendation for a public ADA compliant restroom in Trailside Park, <br /> which was approved at the April 4, 2018 P & R meeting was not approved by the City <br /> Council. They requested it be rescinded and to produce a revised motion which is listed <br /> as follows: <br /> Motion made by Committee Member Errickson-Grahek, seconded by Committee <br /> Member Seeley to rescind the April 4, 2018 motion for a public ADA compliant <br /> restroom at Trailside Park and to allow the Bald Eagle Waterski Club to place a <br /> Porta Potty at Trailside Park to be used solely for their own use and to pay the cost <br /> of said structure & any landscaping needed. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> It was the committees' understanding that the City Council approved a public ADA <br /> compliant restroom to be located in Cornerstone Park, near Trailside Park. <br /> 5.
