Centerville 2040
A framework of transportation improvements needed to support the
redevelopment of the area and to create appropriate levels of parking
as well as vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian access to the downtown.
A set of design standards to guide the architectural quality of new
development within the downtown area.
The master plan was also coordinated with the plans for the redesign and
expansion of County State Aid Highway 14 (Main Street). The master plan
integrated efforts to calm traffic, provide a safe pedestrian environment and
provide guidelines for buildings that respected the pedestrian scale and
encouraged walkability. Since the Downtown Master Plan encompassed such
a large portion of Centerville, its principles and guidelines were utilized
extensively in the City's 2030 Comprehensive Plan update. Figure 2 shows the
downtown master plan that was developed.
The DomInMwn Master Plan was obvelopeo'at the freight of the econornYlust
before the econorrric o'owoturo in 2007 Its o'eveloprrrent will be a future
priority for the City ano'rrray require upo'atfnp of the o'omrr?town plan to reflect
current rrrarket realities.
DOWNTOWN MASTER PLAN-FUTURE PRIORITY
r
— r w jo
.. .., -
-.
