Curfew Ordinance Dear Parents, Recently, Anoka County adopted a county wide curfew ordinance that is now in effect for all communities in Anoka County as well as most MetrO communitieS. We know that a number of our young people are not only committing crimes during these hours, but are also more frequently becoming victims of crime. for these reasons, we ask your cooperation In e~ring that our young people comply with this ordinance. Law Enforcement agencies throughout Anoka County will be enforcing this ordinance. In addition, parents who willfully permit such violations may also be cited. Activities that are exempt from this ordinance are as follows: . When accompanied by a parent or authorized adult. . When involved in or attempting to remedy an emergency. . While engaged in lawful employment activity, going to or retuming home from such employment. . While attending an official school, religious or other social or recreational activity supervised by adults or going to and retuming home without detour from such activity. . While on an errand directed by his or her parent without detour. . While engaged in Interstate travel. . If the juvenne is on public property iniinedlately abutting the juveniles residence. . While exercising protected First Amendment Rights. Please familiarize yourself with the age and houriy restrictions, post on refrigerator or similar for easy reference. I am pleased to report to you that.the Anoka County Housing and Redevelopment Authority has joined in the Minnesota Housing Finance Authority's (MHFA) First Time Homebuyers Program. MHFA has authorized . $4,423,606 in state bond proceeds to be used in all of the cities and townships in the county except Anoka, Columbia Heights and Fridley - who are participating on their own. . The program is available for families with an adjusted household Income under $43,650 to buy an existing home with a purchase price under $95,000 located in any Anoka County community except Anoka, Columbia Heights and Fridley. The announcement to the publiC of the availability of this program will offIclally.be made by MHFA in the near future when the bonding process is complete.
