<br />Curfew Ordinance <br /> <br /> <br />Dear Parents, <br /> <br />Recently, Anoka County adopted a county wide curfew <br />ordinance that is now in effect for all communities in <br />Anoka County as well as most MetrO communitieS. We <br />know that a number of our young people are not only <br />committing crimes during these hours, but are also more <br />frequently becoming victims of crime. for these <br />reasons, we ask your cooperation In e~ring that our <br />young people comply with this ordinance. Law <br />Enforcement agencies throughout Anoka County will be <br />enforcing this ordinance. In addition, parents who <br />willfully permit such violations may also be cited. <br />Activities that are exempt from this ordinance are as <br />follows: <br />. When accompanied by a parent or authorized adult. <br />. When involved in or attempting to remedy an <br />emergency. <br />. While engaged in lawful employment activity, going <br />to or retuming home from such employment. <br />. While attending an official school, religious or other <br />social or recreational activity supervised by adults or <br />going to and retuming home without detour from <br />such activity. <br />. While on an errand directed by his or her parent <br />without detour. <br />. While engaged in Interstate travel. <br />. If the juvenne is on public property iniinedlately <br />abutting the juveniles residence. <br />. While exercising protected First Amendment Rights. <br /> <br />Please familiarize yourself with the age and houriy <br />restrictions, post on refrigerator or similar for easy <br />reference. MHFA has authorized . <br />$4,423,606 in state bond proceeds to be used in all of <br />the cities and townships in the county except Anoka, <br />Columbia Heights and Fridley - who are participating on <br />their own. . <br />The program is available for families with an <br />adjusted household Income under $43,650 to buy an <br />existing home with a purchase price under $95,000 <br />located in any Anoka County community except Anoka, <br />Columbia Heights and Fridley. This is a program which <br />has not bee"generally available Inourcountyuin1h~ <br />past and we .are very excited. about this new tool to help <br />young families from our county purchase housing in this <br />area. <br />The announcement to the publiC of the availability of <br />this program will offIclally.be made by MHFA in the near <br />future when the bonding process is complete.
