page three

page four

initiating any construction project to verify whether a
building permit is appropriate.

POSSIBLE IICIlASIS II SIIIR UTILITY BILLIIGS - The flow within
the Centerville sewage system is .easured by the
Metropolitan Waste Control COllission, who in turns
determines the cost to the City each year based upon this
flow. It appears that a large amount of the flow from
Centerville is clear (rainfall related) water. It is
suspect that the cause of some of the clear water is from
sump pumps tied directly to the sewer systems.

If you have already initiated or constructed a project
without a permit you will have a grace period until January
15, 1992 to notify City Hall, apply for a building permit
and pay the appropriate fee. After January 15, 1992 all
"after the fact building permits" will charged a double
permit fee.

Thank you for your cooperation.

The Metropolitan Waste Control Commission is considering
monetary penalties to cities with a high flow of clear
water. It would then be necessary for the City to pay for
this extra charge by increasing it's quarterly sanitary
sewer billings to residents and property owners.

FISHIIG PIKR - The Anoka County Park Department is assisting the
City of Centerville, Peltier Lake Association and
Centerville Lake Association regarding their concerns about
the pedestrian traffic generated by the fishing between
Centerville and Peltier Lakes near the Waterworks Bar.

If you currently have your sump pump discharging into the
sanitary sewer system, please assist the City in keeping
it's sanitary sewer billings low by re-directing the clear
water flow.

It appears that the Anoka County Park Department is working
with the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the St.
Paul Water Department to divert the Main Street fishing by
installing a fishing pier on Peltier Lake. The DNR will
work with the Anoka County Park Department to take measures
to ensure that the pier will be located wbere there will be
good fisbing.

Current Quarterly Rates
~ Base rate
Centerville $36.00
Lexington $34.00
Hugo $35.00
Lino Lakes $40.00

Seniors rate
$30.00
$34.00
$35.00
$40.00

If the pier were to be installed, fishing will be prohibited
from tbe Kain Street right-of-way between the two lakes.

If you have any questions, please contact City Hall.

SUMP PUMPS - Does your sump pUlp water flow on to City streets?
This is a violation of Minnesota State Statute 609.74.
Continuation of the flow could cause you to be liable for
. City expense for clean-up/maintenance, damage to person or
property, damage to the street and curbing and/or guilty of
a misdemeanor. Please direct your storm water
appropriately. Violators will be ticketed.

SBQI PLOWING .- Please do not place snow, slush or ice into the
street by means of shoveling, snow blowing, plowing, etc.
This is a violation of state statute.

Parking is not allowed on City Streets between tbe bours of
3:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
