CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> REQUEST FOR <br /> COUNCIL ACTION J`' <br /> o <br /> Agenda Item# Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: <br /> Administration July 11, 2018 <br /> TITLE OF ISSUE: <br /> Part-Time Finance Director Contract <br /> BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br /> The contract for the Part-Time Finance Director was on the last agenda and was tabled for additional <br /> information and to have Mr. DeJong sign the agreement. <br /> It is staffs understanding that there was some discussion regarding whether or not the offer to Mr. DeJong fell <br /> within the guidelines approved by the City Council, since the total cost of the hire at 20 hours per week would <br /> exceed $50,000 (guidance from council was $40,000 - $50,000 for position cost). While the contract <br /> contemplates an average of 20 hours per week, that is "...subject to the discretion of the City Administrator" to <br /> manage the Finance Directors work to stay within the allocated budget for the position.
