CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> REQUEST FOR <br /> COUNCIL ACTION J`' <br /> o <br /> Agenda Item# Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: <br /> Administration/Building Inspections 8/22/2018 <br /> TITLE OF ISSUE: <br /> Electrical Inspection Service <br /> BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br /> The city's current Electrical Inspector is retiring as of the end of September. He has made a recommendation <br /> for the hiring of Tolde Inspection Inc. Staff met with Pete Tolde and reviewed his services and procedures. <br /> The inspection service would be 5 days a week,plus he would add the availability of a website for scheduling <br /> up to 10 days in advance with 2 additional contract inspectors available to inspect during heavy load days <br /> versus postponing to the next day or week. He also services nearby communities,particularly North Oaks. We <br /> also have an offer from the State of MN. Years ago we had the State perform interim inspections but they only <br /> scheduled 1/2 day windows twice a week due to the vast area the inspector had to cover. Inspections from <br /> them are also not performed during State shutdowns.
