CITY OF CENTER VILLE <br /> POSITION DESCRIPTION <br /> Position Title: RECEPTIONIST-OFFICE TECHNICIAN <br /> Department: Administration <br /> Accountable To: City Administrator <br /> Status: Non-Exempt(PART-TIME) <br /> Date: December 2018 <br /> PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: <br /> This position has varied responsibilities, including receiving, screening, routing calls and visitors <br /> to the appropriate Staff members. Provides clerical support to other staff. <br /> SUPERVISION RECEIVED: <br /> Works under the direct supervision of the City Administrator. <br /> SUPERVISION EXERCISED: <br /> None. <br /> ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: <br /> Administrative Responsibilities <br /> • This position is required to meet and greet people at the customer service counter in a <br /> friendly, respectful and positive manner. <br /> • Answer incoming telephone calls in a friendly, respectful and professional manner and direct <br /> the caller to the appropriate resource in a timely fashion. <br /> • Perform filing duties. <br /> • Receive applications for permits and issue receipts as necessary for payments received at <br /> front counter or online. <br /> • Perform general typing. <br /> • Update City Hall Message Board, Website and Social Media Accounts with current <br /> information and in accordance with city policy. <br /> • Assist with production and logistics of mailings, utility billing, newsletters and the like. <br /> • General organizational tasks, such as keeping office supplies stocked, etc. <br /> • Other duties as assigned. <br /> External Relationships with the Public <br /> • Required to establish a good working relationship using clear, respectful communications <br /> with citizens, businesses, commissions, consultants and representatives from other political <br /> subdivisions. <br /> Organizational Responsibility <br /> • This position is expected to treat co-workers, residents, City officials, business owners and <br /> the general public in a friendly, respectful and professional manner. <br /> 59 <br />
