City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> December 12,2018 <br /> Motion by Council Member King, seconded by Council Member Montain to <br /> Approve the Consent Agenda as presented. Allin favor. Motion carried. <br /> VIIL OLD BUSINESS <br /> 1. 2040 Comprehensive Plan—Final Plan Approval for Submittal to the Met <br /> Council <br /> Administrator Statz explained to council the reason for bringing the 2040 Comprehensive <br /> Plan back to council is because they made a change in the number of homes that would <br /> bring the build out total to a number that he and the planning commission felt <br /> comfortable with due to the lower density of the Bay View Villas project and other <br /> upcoming developments in Centerville. <br /> Mr. Eric Maass, WSB Consultant, stated that each City is required by the Met Council to <br /> update their Comprehensive Plan every 10 years. It required City's to look at new roads, <br /> housing, land use, parks and trails, sewer and water infrastructure to make sure that they <br /> are up to date and that they can accommodate future growth. <br /> Motion by Council Member King, seconded by Council Member Koski to approve <br /> the 2040 Comprehensive Plan for Submittal to Met Council. All in favor. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> IX. NEW BUSINESS <br /> 1. Res. #18-019—Recognizing Steven King for His Years of Dedicated Public <br /> Service to the City of Centerville—approved earlier <br /> 2. Authorize Advertisement for Part-Time Receptionist Position <br /> Administrator Statz stated that he would like to advertise for the permanent part-time <br /> receptionist at the beginning of the year as approved with the 2019 budget. Administrator <br /> Statz stated this persons duties would be to answer the phones, greet residents, issue <br /> building permits, tend to social media accounts, the website and other duties assigned. He <br /> noted that there is a copy of the job description in their packet for more details. Council <br /> Member Montain was concerned if there was going to be enough work for this person to do <br /> to keep busy and Administrator Statz reassured him and council that there will be enough <br /> work. <br /> Administrator Statz stated that this third person would be a great asset to the City. This <br /> person would have flexible hours to be able to help cover when the City Clerk and Sr. <br /> Account Clerk are on vacation. <br /> Motion by Council Member King, seconded by Council Member Love, to approve <br /> authorization to advertise for a Part-Time Receptionist.
