City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> December 12,2018 <br /> 3. Approve Cost of Living Salary Adjustments and Cafeteria Plan Increases for <br /> Non-Union Employees (2.5%, effective 1/1/2019) <br /> Administrator Statz requested from council that the temporary part-time, seasonal part-time <br /> and part-time employees receive a pay increase of 25 cents an hour. A brief discussion <br /> occurred and the consensus was to increase their pay by the 25 cents and give the approved <br /> cost of living salary adjustment of 2.5% and cafeteria plan increase for non-union <br /> employees to match that in the union contract, effective January 1, 2019. <br /> Motion by Council Member Kine, seconded by Council Member Koski to approve <br /> Resolution #18-021 setting the cost of living salary adiustment and cafeteria plan <br /> increases for non-union employees (2.5%, effective 1/1/2019) as presented. All in <br /> favor. Motion carried. <br /> 4. Assessor Services Contract Renewal-Ken Tolzman <br /> Administrator Statz stated that the contract for our Assessor, Ken Tolzman, is up for <br /> renewal for the 2019. The contract is for a 3 year extension. Administrator Statz stated <br /> that he checked into Anoka County and found that Anoka County is 33% higher than Mr. <br /> Tolzman's rate. <br /> Motion by Council Member King, seconded by Council Member Love to Approve the <br /> Assessor Service Contract renewal for Ken Tolzman as presented. All in favor. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 5. Approval of City Hall/Fire Station HVAC/Electrical Evaluation Proposal <br /> Administrator Statz stated that he received a proposal from Stantec Consulting in regards <br /> to City Hall/Fire Station HVAC/Electrical evaluation. He explained to Council that in this <br /> proposal Stantec Consulting would review the City HVAC and electrical system, <br /> including lighting, in the building and the pump house. He explained to Council that the <br /> temperature at City Hall has been very inconsistent. <br /> Administrator Statz stated he would like to have the building evaluated to see what needs <br /> to be done to correct this problem as a part of the remodeling process of City Hall. <br /> Mayor Paar stopped the meeting for a short break to sign the papers for the high school <br /> students. <br /> A lengthy discussion ensued as to if they needed to spend approximately $5000 in <br /> consulting fees for this evaluation or whether it could be done for free by a local HVAC <br /> contractor. <br /> Motion by Mayor Paar, seconded by Council Member King to approve the City <br /> Hall/Fire Station HVAC/Electrical Evaluation Proposal as presented. <br /> Discussion ensued. Council Member King questioned do we need an engineer to sign the <br /> plans to do this. Council Member Koski requested to have additional bids and more <br /> Page 5 of 8 <br /> 6 <br />
