City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> December 12,2018 <br /> information. Council Member King requested a friendly amendment to table. Mayor Paar <br /> did not accept this amendment and stated that this proposal is to let us know what is best <br /> for the City. Administrator Statz stated that we need to have an engineer sign off on the <br /> plan in order to have our Building Official approve the changes. <br /> Mayor Paar amended his original motion to approve this proposal contingent upon <br /> the Building Official confirming the need to have to an engineer sign off on this type <br /> of work. If an engineer's signature is not needed, the proposal should come back <br /> before Council. Motion carried with Council Member Koski opposed(4-1). <br /> X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> 1. Administrator/Engineer Report <br /> Administrator Statz stated for clarification purposes that there was a Memo in regards to <br /> Park Plan Assistance what was in their packet that should have been pulled. It was <br /> removed from the agenda but the information was not removed from the packet. <br /> Administrator Statz asked council if they had any questions in regards to his report and <br /> also stated that Michael Giovinazzo is the newest member of the Economic Development <br /> Authority. <br /> Administrator Statz stated that there was an interested party in purchasing property on <br /> Commerce Drive. He stated that he has been sending interested parties to Fairview and <br /> Gateway Circle that are looking for small industrial lots. He stated that the owner of the <br /> property is getting himself prepared for selling his property with the surveys because he <br /> lost out earlier being that he did not have this information available to potential buyers. <br /> He also congratulated Ruffridge-Johnson on their Ribbon Cutting ceremony and open <br /> house that occurred today, December 12, 2018. <br /> Administrator Statz also stated that EDA and Planning and Zoning are going to have a <br /> joint meeting on Block 7. Council Member Koski asked if there is any news on Rehbine's <br /> property. Administrator Statz stated that he has not heard anything from Mr. Brandon <br /> Champeau from United Properties in regards to those properties. He stated that he addend <br /> a meeting with the Anoka County Economic Development person and she is trying to get <br /> together a technology corridor along 35E starting near our southern border through Lino <br /> Lakes up to Columbus to the race track—southern border heading north to Columbus. The <br /> group is trying to market this area for data center and high data use businesses, <br /> engineering firms, medical centers, call centers, etc. to take advantage of some of the fiber <br /> optic infrastructure already in place. <br /> Council Member Koski updated council on the Planning and Zoning meeting on <br /> December 4, 2018. They discussed the change in density on the Comp Plan which was <br /> discussed tonight. He stated that he attended the Ruffridge-Johnson ribbon cutting <br /> ceremony and welcomed them.
