City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> September 26,2018 <br /> Mayor Paar stated that Anoka County recently hired Ms. Jacquel Hajder as their new Economic <br /> Development Specialist. He stated that she has been working with communities in Anoka <br /> County to promote their cities along with Anoka County. Mayor Paar stated that Administrator <br /> Statz and himself have already met with her and she will be providing assist to the City as her <br /> schedule allows. <br /> Mayor Paar reported that the Quad Area Chamber of Commerce would be hosting a Happy Hour <br /> event from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on September 27, 2018 for those who own or operate a business <br /> within Centerville and surrounding communities in an attempt to gain membership and provide <br /> networking opportunities. <br /> Mayor Paar reminded the audience that the Centerville Lion's would be holding their 2nd Annual <br /> Chili Cook-Off on October 6, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on City owned property across from <br /> the Southern Rail. He stated that it is open to the public to enter their chili and the fee for tasting <br /> is $10. He stated that snacks and beverages will also be available. He also stated that more <br /> information can be obtained from the Lions Facebook page. <br /> Mayor Paar stated that absentee voting is taking place until November 5, 2018 at City Hall and <br /> General Elections will be held at St. Genevieve's Community Parish on November 6, 2018 from <br /> 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. <br /> Mayor Paar stated that he had been invited and attended a military send off for the Red Bull 34 <br /> Division Infantry. He stated that over 5,000 steak dinners were served to military individuals <br /> and their family. He stated that many other local mayors were invited. <br /> Mayor Paar stated that his neighbor Ms. Rachel Lichtenberg was recently deployed and it just <br /> lets you know how close these active individuals are to you and how valuable their services are <br /> to our Country. <br /> XIII. ADJOURNMENT <br /> Motion by Council Member King, seconded by Council Member Montain to Adiourn the <br /> Regularly Scheduled Council Meeting of September 26, 2018 at 8:13 p.m. All in favor. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Respectfully submitted by City Clerk, Teresa Bender <br /> Page 6 of 6 <br />
