City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> November 14,2018 <br /> Area Chamber of Commerce he met Mrs. Radermacher, learned of the program and felt that the <br /> Council would also be interested in the program. Administrator Statz introduced Mrs. <br /> Radermacher to Council. <br /> Mrs. Radermacher introduced herself stating that her husband was a World War II veteran and <br /> when she chose to volunteer her time she chose veteran organizations to do so. She stated that <br /> she has served the Quad Area Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Program in several capacities (Co- <br /> Chair, Treasurer, etc.). She provided some background regarding the program stating that the <br /> organization accepts telephone calls 24/7, provides services to military families, service <br /> members and veterans by building memorials, assisting in awareness projects, raking <br /> leaves/snow removal, providing information about other veteran organizations or benefits <br /> available, organize a volunteer base, provide military uniform ropes for high school graduates <br /> that are entering the military services, etc. She stated that the Program is seeking donations, <br /> volunteers, tickets to events, etc. She discussed the difficulties with awareness of military <br /> members in the area as the military does not share a listing of its members and generally military <br /> members or veterans are unaware of such programs. She also stated that they are building their <br /> data base with those that benefit from their services through social media, other organizations <br /> and agencies that provide resources and support for veterans and military families, etc. and <br /> currently have four (4) deployed members of families with two (2) of them expecting children <br /> shortly. <br /> Mr. Charles Reinhardt stated that providing hard to obtain supplies to deployed soldiers was <br /> something that was needed and appreciated. <br /> Council thanked Ms. Radermacher for her information, stated that they were eager to participate <br /> any way that they could and questioned whether the EDA could contribute funding to the <br /> organization. City Attorney Glaser explained that the EDA has the ability to receive and donate <br /> funds. Ms. Radermacher stated that Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Program hosts a monthly <br /> meeting in the Community Room of the Lino Lakes City Hall from 6:30-7:30 and is always <br /> looking for volunteers. <br /> V. PUBLIC HEARING <br /> 1. Delinquent Utility Bills, City Maintenance, Etc. <br /> Administrator Statz state that it has been the practice of Council to certify delinquent utilities or <br /> City maintenance charges, etc. to individuals that are delinquent and is allowed by State Statute <br /> 429.101. He stated that the charges are from the middle of 2017 through the middle of 2018. <br /> Mayor Paar opened the Public Hearing at 6:57 p.m. and asked if anyone was in the audience <br /> desiring to speak regarding this item. No members of the audience chose to speak. <br /> Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member Montain to Close the <br /> Public Hearing at 6:58 p.m. All in favor.
