City of Centerville <br /> Parks&Recreation Committee <br /> June 6,2018 <br /> Mr. Branch provided the following updates: <br /> • PFD to be worn by all participants; <br /> • Waivers must be signed by adult participants and by <br /> parent/guardian of minors; <br /> • Past Coordinator Kerri Kolstad will have up to 65 kayaks available <br /> for $25 rent (includes PFD and paddle). Mr. Statz asked if Mr. <br /> Branch could arrange to have additional PFD's available for a <br /> small rental fee. <br /> • Mr. Statz will coordinate with the police department to assist with <br /> traffic control, around the event, to allow for safe canoe/kayak <br /> drop-off Mr. Statz asked that St. Genevieve's parking lot not be <br /> used (at the old church) and that the Centerville Elementary School <br /> lot be used instead. <br /> C. Centervillympics <br /> Wholesome Health has been speaking with the Lions Club about having an obstacle <br /> course event, which may end up just being part of KidsFest. <br /> 4. Council Update—Council Member Matt Montain <br /> • Mr. Montain informed the Committee Members that the ADA <br /> compliant restroom was to be located in Cornerstone Park. <br /> • It is the hope of the city to be paperless by the end of the year and <br /> use only electronic communication for most other communiques. <br /> VIII. ACTION ITEMS REVIEW <br /> Items that have been COMPLETED/DELETED: <br /> • 12-013a Kiosk Inserts have been added for run/paddle events and <br /> Music in the Park <br /> • 13-028 — Burial mound signage - Item is being addressed by <br /> Anoka County Park system <br /> • 14-001 — Send request for donations from charitable gambling <br /> recipients. This is regular city staff practice <br /> • 15-010 —North Metro TV coverage of events —This is regular city <br /> staff practice <br /> • 17-004 —Skate Park reassembly <br /> • 17-006 —Feb 10 Hayride, etc. <br /> • 17-011 —Fete des Lacs Race Coordinator—Pat Branch <br /> • 18-003 — Contact Tom Lee regarding sound system — Tom can <br /> now pay $500 for sound system and pick up. <br /> • 18-004 —Reschedule spring clean-up <br /> Items TO BE CHANGED: <br /> Page 4 of 5 <br />
