City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> February 13,2019 <br /> Council Member Montain stated that he would be attending the North Metro Cable Commission <br /> in the following week. <br /> Mayor Paar reminded residents of the Fete des Lacs Celebration and that all information could <br /> be obtained from the Fete des Lacs website at: http://fetedeslacs.org/. He stated that the City <br /> continues to be informative on both Facebook and Twitter. He also stated that North Metro <br /> Cable will be live streaming the Council meetings shortly. <br /> Mayor Paar also reminded residents of the upcoming Lions Annual Ice Fishing Contest <br /> scheduled for February 16 on Centerville Lake near the Anoka County Regional Park Boat <br /> Launch. He also reminded residents of the upcoming Shake Your Shamrock event sponsored by <br /> Kelly's Korner on March 16, 2019. He also thanked the Parks & Recreation Committee for <br /> their last skate and hayride event on February 16, 2019. <br /> Mayor Paar also reported that he and City Administrator Statz would be attending an upcoming <br /> Quad Area Chamber of Commerce Lunch and Learn session in March and requested that it be <br /> posted. <br /> Mayor Paar also reported that he recently attended a legislative breakfast at the Centennial High <br /> School where discussions were had regarding equity in funding of schools so that the schools <br /> were not such a tax burden on residential tax payers. He stated that this is an ongoing effort for <br /> Centennial Schools. <br /> Mayor Paar thanks City Staff for their diligence in keeping residents safe during recent snow <br /> events and requested that residents refrain from placing items in the road right of way due to the <br /> possibility of City vehicles damaging them or equipment being damaged. He reported that the <br /> main streets will be completed first then collector streets will be completed. He stated that <br /> sidewalks/trails would be secondary. <br /> Council Member Koski asked residents to clear fire hydrants that may be in their yard or <br /> neighboring yards as the location and availability is essential in attempting to save structures and <br /> lives. <br /> XI. RECESS REGULAR MEETING <br /> Mayor Paar recessed to a Closed Executive Session following a 5 minute break at 7:28 p.m. <br /> This portion of the meeting is closed to develop or consider offers for the purchase/sale real <br /> property in the Downtown District, and/or Determine the Asking Price for Real Property <br /> to be Sold in the Downtown District.
