City of Centerville Council Meeting Minutes February 27,2019 incorporate the lakes, the city's history and Council Member Lakso suggested the convenience to the freeways and both Minneapolis and St. Paul. Attorney Glaser stated that no action needed to be taken to appoint Mayor Paar to this Ad Hoc Committee. 2. Schedule Joint Committee Goal Setting Meeting Administrator Statz stated that Staff is slightly behind with the preparation of the 2019 Goals but typically Council schedules a Goal Setting Session with all Committees/Commissions to obtain input from them and he would like to schedule this session shortly. Motion by Council Member Montain, seconded by Council Member Love to Schedule a Joint Committee Goal Setting Session for March 27, 2019 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. All in favor. Motion carried. Mayor Paar reminded staff to post said session and express the importance of attendance and participation by Committee/Commission members. 3. Soil Boring Proposal for Block 7 "Removed from the Agenda" X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS 1. Administrator/Engineer Report Administrator Statz stated that his report was in the packet and he would be happy to answer any questions that Council had. He reported that Staff has completed interviews of six (6) candidates, Staff will be conducting reference checks and bring before Council a recommendation for hire. He also reported that the EDA meeting was cancelled due to lack of submitted plans for the downtown area. The developer will be submitting a Concept Plan along with a market study shortly. He stated that Midwest Best Water is preparing Concept Plans prior to moving forward and that he has met with numerous business owners regarding code issues. He also reported that he and Staff have been working on a low cost mini-festival to be held the same evenings as the Bald Eagle Water Ski Shows (food trucks, vendors and other options) in Corner Stone Park. Attorney Glaser stated that April 26, 2019 is Law Day at the Anoka County Court House which has been extremely popular in the past. He stated that they offer clinics to residents to resolve outstanding warrants for criminal misdemeanors and gross misdemeanors and discuss resolution of outstanding issues in some felony cases, provide an opportunity to talk to officials from the MN DPS Division of Driver & Vehicle Services about reinstating suspended driver's licenses, they assist in the beginning processes of expunging adult, juvenile and eviction court records, they also will assist with family law issues, provide forms and schedule court dates and obtain information about conservator account auditing program and legal advice about conservatorships, power of attorney and guardianships.
