The Kids run has always been a fully sponsored event. Creative Kids and Metro Dance previously sponsored this event. Apple Academy in Centerville is the current sponsor and hopefully will agree to continue sponsoring this event. They do a great job and provide a valuable enhancement to the community. Apple Academy staff organizes, manages, and is fully responsible for the Kids Run event. They provide registration, volunteers, awards for all the kids, and event supervision on race day. This is not a timed event. All the participants are winners. There are no results to be posted. Currently the event is limited to 100 young athletes, 10 years old or younger. The event is open to all participants within that limit. The children do not need to be Apple Academy students nor necessarily reside in Centerville. As the overall Run Event Coordinator, representing the Centerville Parks and Recreation Committee, we: 1. Coordinate with Apple Academy to ensure they have the support they need 2. Provide and set up the course within LaMotte Park, 3. Include Apple Academy in any news article or other efforts to promote Fete des Lacs 4. While it is not a requirement, assist with procuring children sized event t-shirts Part 7. Race Director or Race Coordinators This not a standalone event. We do not do it All. This is one event of Fete des Lacs. Fete des Lacs is an annual celebration with many events. Coordination between these events and with the City Staff and local first responders occurs through the Fete des Lacs Committee. Fete des Lacs is a joint activity between the City and the Centerville Lions. The following is a list of responsibilities performed by the City and are not covered in this management plan: 1. Insurance 2. Trash and Recycling services 3. Portable toilets. 4. Solicitation of Sponsors (with a couple of exceptions - Apple Academy and Wiseguy Pizza) 5. Website development 6. Social media 7. Advertisements 8. First Responders (Police, Fire, Emergency Medical) 9. Communications (Anoka County Radio Club Race Director or Coordinator responsibilities include: (So if we have assigned away so many of our responsibilities -what do I do?) 1. Fete des Lacs Planning Committee member- Insure Run is fully coordinated with the City Staff and the Lions Club) 2. Oversee and assist the managers listed above 3. Apply for required permits with the City, County, and Sheriff(when needed) 4. Arrange for the professional timer. Ensure they have the support they need
