Other thoughts
1. Have Training Chief changed to fulltime—29 hours vs. being available 40 hours for responding. Should have a
vehicle. Fulltime benefits$30,000, this is an additional $15,000 to budget
2. Do we need a utility vehicle— FF's use for driving to classes, training would use for hauling, EMS events
coverage. A 4 door pickup would be best option.
3. Have station officers be responsible for any maintenance/repair issues.
4. Investigations covered by Anoka County Fire Investigation Team. Chief Peil and Firefighter Tschida are trained in
investigations.
5. What if we have no applicants for part time positions?
Fire Departments with Duty Crews pay amounts
Vadnais Heights- up to $14/hr, pay scales based on rank.
Andover- 14.10-17.35 per hour.
Brooklyn Park-starting pay 17 dollars an hour with dollar increases every other year or so.
Fridley- Firefighter$14.62, FAO $15.64, Lieutenant$16.75
Lake Jo— Pay hourly, Firefighters-$14.75 hr. Officer/Lead FF-$17.00 hr
Plymouth-$11.30-$13.87/hr
6
