City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> March 27,2019 <br /> Council Member Love stated that the League of MN Cities 2019 Annual Conference was June <br /> 26-28, 2019 and if you are new registrant the fee was $150 and if you are a returning member the <br /> fee was $400. City Administrator Statz stated that Council Member Lakso has been registered <br /> and if any members of Council chose to attend to let staff know and they would make <br /> arrangements for them. Mayor Paar stated that he was unable to attend. <br /> City Attorney Glaser reminded the audience and council that April 24, 2019 is Law Day at the <br /> Anoka County Court House. He stated that attendance in the past has been large and suggested <br /> that where appointments to see assistance are taken, individuals make them prior to appearing. <br /> Council Member Lakso stated that she assisted a Cub Scout pack with the assembly of <br /> emergency packs along with assistance from the Centennial Fire District and Centennial Lakes <br /> Police Department. She stated that the Pack would be earning a badge for their participation. <br /> Brief discussion ensued regarding a potential for not achieving a quorum for the June 26, 2019 <br /> regularly scheduled Council meeting and City Administrator Statz stated that two members <br /> would be absent (Lakso & Love) and that the item would be appearing on a future agenda for <br /> potential for rescheduling. <br /> Council Member Montain stated that he recently attended a North Metro TV meeting where <br /> discussions took place regarding high definition (HD) and the City of Centerville being the only <br /> City nor having this Capability. He also stated that information was obtained regarding 5G small <br /> cell State and federal Legislature along with closed captioning. <br /> Mayor Paar thanked acting Mayor Love for conducting the March 13, 2019 City Council <br /> meeting during his absence, stated that he and administrator Statz had recently spoke at an event <br /> held by the Quad Area Chamber of Commerce. He stated that the Quad Area Chamber is <br /> attempting to gain members of government entities along with schools and local businesses. He <br /> also stated that an idea of the EDA is to potentially pay local businesses' (Centerville) first year <br /> membership dues to expose them to the benefits of the organization. <br /> He reported that he and administrator Statz participated in a Lunch and Learn (March 7, 2019) <br /> sponsored by the Chamber where a type of"State of the City" was given by local Mayors and <br /> City Administrators. He stated that is an uptick in development and residential construction. He <br /> also reported that he recently met with a Pack 432 Weblos who desired to meet with an elected <br /> official to learn about the duties and responsibilities associated with being a Council Member <br /> and government official. He desired to extend his appreciation to the pack for the opportunity to <br /> meet them and share his experiences with them. He also reported that the Adhoc Branding <br /> Committee (City Administrator Statz, Vice Chair Weatherhead, himself and Committee Member <br /> Twohy met regarding core essentials associated with the City of Centerville attempting to <br /> incorporate same within a logo and tagline. <br /> Mayor Paar reminded Council and the audience that the Lions Cadillac dinner was schedules for <br /> April 27, 2019 at St. Genevieve's Community Parish and the is tickets were desired to contact <br /> previous Mayor Mr. Tom Wilharber. He reported that the owner of Corner Express/Circle K, <br /> Mr. Todd Steffen's daughter Mackenze's hockey team became National Champions and <br /> congratulated them. <br /> Page 7 of 8 <br />
