KLAIIEN R
. .................. ....................1976 Wooddale Drive,Suite 4 I Woodbury,MN 55125
Phone(651)773-5111 I Fax(651)773-5222
April 16, 2019
By Email Only
Mr. Paul Palzer
Public Works Director
City of Centerville
1880 Main Street
Centerville, Minnesota 55038
RE: Proposal for an ROV or Dry Tank Cleanout Inspection of the 500,000-Gallon Single
Pedestal Water Tower for the City of Centerville, Minnesota.
KLM Project No. MN2184
Dear Mr. Palzer:
KLM is pleased to submit this proposal for an inspection of the 500,000-gallon single pedestal
water tower located in the City of Centerville, Minnesota. KLM proposes to perform an
inspection of the existing conditions of this water tower in conformance with AWWA Manual
M42 Appendix C Inspecting and Repairing Steel Water Tanks and Elevated Tanks for Water
Storage.
By choosing KLM Engineering, Inc., the City of Centerville is investing in the knowledge and
expertise of a consultant who can perform an accurate and unbiased inspection of your water
tower. Our inspection will clearly identify all the maintenance requirements of the tower and will
define the next time it needs maintenance.
The experience of KLM's staff in water tank inspections has been enhanced by our training as
National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) Coatings Inspectors and American
Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspectors. This training, plus the years of experience
in abrasive blasting (surface preparation)painting, rigging, welding, and inspecting has given
this company a competitive edge for performing this type of work in a safe and professional
manner.
Documentation
KLM will provide to the Owner a Full Report, which will provide the following benefits:
1. Clearly stating the actual condition of the coatings and structural integrity.
2. Identify the amount of sediment and estimate the next time it needs cleaning.
3. Provide a schedule for performing recommended maintenance work.
4. Provide a Cost Estimate for all recommended repair work.
5. Color photographs and DVD (ROV only) substantiate details of the report.
6. Copies of the report justify maintenance recommendations to decision-makers.
7. The inspection report can be included in the specification document to provide accurate
information on existing conditions for bidders.
8. Recommendation of future inspections.
9. KLM will also provide drawings in the report for future maintenance.
The inspection report will be provided to the City in digital format (PDF)unless indicated to
KLM otherwise.
135
