City of Centerville <br />Council Work Session & Council Meeting Minutes <br />May 22, 2019 <br /> <br />Council Member Montain in receiving an award for his fire service and thanked him for <br />volunteering in his community in that capacity. He also thanked all veterans and those that are <br />serving for their service along with EMS, police and fire personnel as they make great sacrifices <br />to help others. He reminded individuals that the Hugo American Legion would be providing a <br />service at St. Genevieve’s Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. on Memorial Day. Mayor Paar requested that <br />Staff post a potential for quorum notice for this event. <br /> <br />Council Member Montain stated that North Metro Telecommunication Commission has been <br />working on the high definition conversion, Century Link is removing itself from the cable market. <br />He stated that he attended a recent banquet for the school in which his mother, Judy Montain was <br />honored as Employee of the Year. He congratulated Centennial School District in taking pride in <br />their school and employees. <br /> <br />Mayor Paar congratulated Ms. Montain. <br /> <br />Mayor Paar stated that for Earth Day, a group from Lions Heart volunteered and assisted the Parks <br />& Recreation Committee in park cleanup and they are willing to continue to volunteer for other <br />events. Mayor Paar reminded the audience of the Fete des Lacs web site for registration for <br />Kickball, Paddle des Lacs, the 5K/8K runs, and parade. He also thanked outgoing Sargent Bill <br />Jacobson for his service with the Centennial Lakes Police Department and wished him well in his <br />future endeavors. <br /> <br />XI. ADJOURNMENT <br />Motion by Council Member Montain, seconded by Koski to Adjourn the Council Meeting of <br />May 22, 2019 at 8:37 p.m. All in favor.
