City of Centerville <br />Council Work Session & Council Meeting Minutes <br />June 26, 2019 <br /> <br /> <br />City Attorney Glaser stated that City Administrator Statz has voiced concerns to several agencies <br />as directed by Council. Discussion ensued regarding various potential actions that the council <br />could take to address concerns. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Montain seconded by Council Member Lakso to Adopt Ord. <br />#99, Second Series – Regulating Small Wireless Facilities. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />IX. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. None. <br /> <br />X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />1. Administrator/Engineer Report <br /> <br />Due to City Administrator Statz’ absence no report was submitted or given. Finance Director <br />DeJong had no further updates. Attorney Glaser had nothing further to report. <br /> <br />Councilmember Koski reported on a special meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />where a Conditional Use Permit for a mini-storage was presented. A lot was left up in the air and <br />not all information regarding the site plan and landscape plan was fully resolved. He expressed <br />disappointed and felt that the whole thing was rushed. The Commission did end up recommending <br />approval of the CUP, with several conditions. Attorney Glaser explained some of the reasons for <br />the rushed process and noted that the project and CUP were not brought forth to Council in order <br />to give the developer more time to work through the various issues and present a more thorough <br />plan that addresses concerns including: screening of yards, security cameras, hours of operation <br />and drainage. Council Member Koski also reported that the Fire Steering Committee moved to <br />July 25. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lakso reported that the Parks & Recreation Committee meeting for July 3 was <br />canceled. Discussion ensued regarding the Open House scheduled in conjunction with the July 17 <br />EDA meeting. Concerns were raised about conflict with Public Safety Night/Fete des Lacs. <br /> <br />Councilmember Montain reported on the NMTV budget which was approved at $27,000 less and <br />Franchise Fees stayed same. The switch over to HD is scheduled for the end of June and Apple <br />and Roku will have North Metro’s App available. <br /> <br />Mayor Paar stated that the festival meeting went well, with a record number of gold donors and <br />overall donations up and appreciated by local businesses and outside business. He outlined some <br />changes that are being implemented to help keep people safe and should be a big improvement. <br />The groundbreaking for the Midwest Best Water site was held on the 19th and well attended. He <br />is realty excited to see dirt moving and hear their expected completion in October. <br /> <br />Fete des Lacs event sign up for run, paddle, parade, softball, bags and other events at <br />fetedeslacs.org. The Mayor is looking forward to coming and hosting a medallion hunt for the <br />first time.
