May 21, 2019 <br />Centerville Planning & Zoning Commission <br />Page 4 of 6 <br />Residential Driveways, Vehicle Parking & Storage <br />RECOMMENDATIONS <br />This is a discussion item for the Planning & Zoning Commission to explore the kinds of changes that <br />might be made to address these issues. <br /> <br />We recommend the following changes to the Code to address these issues: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />DRIVEWAY. A private access road, the use of which is limited to persons residing, <br />employed, or otherwise using or visiting the parcel of land on which it is located. <br /> <br />2)definition to Section 156.006 Definitions: <br /> <br />PERMITTED DRIVEWAY. A driveway that is of the appropriate size, location, and <br />surface as regulated by this Chapter. <br /> <br />3)s surface; revise the definition in 156.006: <br /> <br />a.IMPERVIOUS SURFACE. Any artificial or natural ground cover that prevents the <br />penetration or infiltration of surface water. Any material that substantially reduces <br />or prevents the infiltration of stormwater into previously undeveloped land. <br />IMPERVIOUS SURFACE shall include graveled driveways and parking areas. <br /> <br />4)Delete 156.144(M)(c) and move it to 156.166 (see below): <br /> <br />a. may be stored outside. . .Boat; Camper; <br /> <br />b. Renumber items following that from (d) and (e) to (c) and (d), respectively. <br /> <br />5)Revise the heading in 156.166 to include driveway standards: <br /> <br />156.166 PARKING AND DRIVEWAY REQUIREMENTS. <br /> <br />6)Revise 156.166(K) to clarify surfacing requirements and move the setback and dimensional <br />standards to a later new section: <br /> <br />(K) Improvement and maintenance. Required parking and loading spaces, <br />together with driveways, aisles and other circulation areas, shall be improved with <br />in a way as to provide a durable and dust-free surface such as asphalt, concrete, <br />pavers, cobblestone or similar material as approved by the City Engineer. <br />according to minimum city specifications, excluding R-1 Districts.
