Downtown Zoning Changes
nd
a. 2 Reading Ordinance #100, Second Series – Rezoning Certain Properties
from M-1 to M-2

City Administrator Statz stated that this is the second reading of the downtown rezoning
information. He explained that this ordinance changes the zoning of certain properties within the
downtown area. He stated that the Planning & Zoning Commission have discussed reducing the
size of the M-1 District which required retail on the ground level and it was felt that without the
downtown redevelopment that was proposed years this type of zoning was not needed if property
was located blocks off of Main Street and that the development would not happen going forward.

Administrator Statz stated that the next ordinance takes care of the modifications to the code and
Table 156-A.1. He reported that a change was made on the table which would allow an accessory
structures to be constructed in both districts with a Conditional Use Permit. He stated that no
Comprehensive Plan Amendment was needed as these modifications were planned for and
contained in the new Comprehensive Plan.
