City of Centerville <br />Parks & Recreation Committee <br />June 5, 2019 <br />Mr. Branch provided the committee members with the following updates for the <br />runs: <br /> <br /> Copy of the new logo and article was sent to the Citizen for inclusion in their <br />Event Pages for both the Runs & the Paddle events. <br /> Mr. Branch will post a copy of the flyer in the kiosk in Cornerstone Park <br /> Add new logo to the Centerville City website on P & R page <br /> Will need a volunteer coordinator and a volunteer manager <br /> Will need a Pro Timer for the runs <br /> Centennial EMS have been notified <br /> Set up the course(s) on Thursday – Pat Branch plus will need 2 volunteers <br /> Registration to be set up in Laurie LaMotte Park (by garage) <br /> Need vinyl banner for the registration areas & announcing <br /> Water stops: Kevin & Nancy Amundsen <br /> Finish Line: pizza <br /> Mr. Branch provided the updates for the Paddle des Lacs: <br /> <br /> Need a boat for Sunday with a committee member in the boat during the <br />paddle event <br /> Need a volunteer to set up buoys and on water watching paddlers (possibly <br />Chris B?) <br /> Need timers for paddle event <br /> 3 paddles available: 1 to adult winner; 1 to random participant; 1 to children’s <br />winner (need to establish age range) <br /> Invoice for rental of canoes, etc. from Kari Kolstad to be sent to the city for <br />payment <br /> <br />Three to five golf carts will be needed for this event. Mr. Statz will redo the matrix <br />information sheet with places for volunteer names, with time slots, etc. <br /> <br />3. 19-014: Water Ski Shows – Vendors & Shuttle for Senior Citizens – TABLED <br />TO JULY (see previously discussed issues in the May, 2019 minutes. <br /> <br />4. 19-019: Select Playground Equipment Replacement Schedule <br /> <br />Mr. Tedd Peterson, Public Works Department, provided a list of the parks, the <br />equipment installation dates and estimated replacement dates: <br /> Tracy McBride Park – Due to frost movements, the 5-12 play structure is the <br />highest priority. <br /> Eagle Park – Wood fall protection is needed every 3 years <br /> Royal Meadows Park – Wood fall protection is needed every 3 years & the <br />wood border needs to be replaced. <br />Page 2 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
