City of Centerville <br />Park & Recreation Committee <br />September 4, 2019 <br />This item was tabled to the October meeting to give Public Works time to evaluate <br />each park. <br />6. 19-024 Movie in the Park <br />The scheduled date is September 14 with a rain date of September 21. The movie <br />selected is "Secret Life of Pets 2". The approved budget for this activity is up $750. <br />The movie license fee was $435, the projector rental is $156.13 and the purchase of <br />three movie posters was $24.11. In addition Committee Member Peterson expended <br />$21.38 for incidentals. Current supplies of popcorn, hot chocolate, etc. need to be <br />checked and additional supplies purchased if necessary. <br />V. NEW COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br />1. Request use of Laurie LaMotte Park — Cub Scouts <br />Motion by Committee Member Errickson-Grahek, seconded by Committee <br />Member Freiermuth to recommend to the City Council to approve the use of <br />Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park, baseball fields 3,4,5 depending on wind <br />direction, on October 5 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, (with a rain date of October 12 <br />at the same times and location), for their annual Rocket Launch, if there are no <br />conflicts. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />2. Storage of Bald Eagle Water Ski Club, Ski Jump/Ramp at Trailside Park <br />Mr. Doug Shipp of the BEWSC was present to inform the committee members that <br />they had really good attendance at their weekly shows and have been promoting this <br />activity by doing more media promotion. He was also present to request permission <br />for the club to store its ski jump/ramp next to its dock at Trailside Park over the winter. <br />Mr. Shipp asked if there was any way possible that it could be pulled out of the water <br />prior to approval of the City Council. He stated that the club would provide insurance <br />coverage for both the dock and ski jump/ramp. <br />Motion made by Committee Member Seeley, seconded by Committee Member <br />Errickson-Grahek to recommend to the Centerville City Council to allow the <br />Bald Eagle Water Ski Club to store their ski iump/ramp next to their dock, over <br />the winter months, currently stored at Trailside Park. All in favor. Motion <br />carried,Note: Mr. Mark "Statz gave his approval for the club to remove the <br />Jumphramp from the /ater, prior to the City Cotnici l nrnrmeethig, to store it, mi shore. <br />VI. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MINUTES — August 7, 2019 <br />Motion made by Committee Member Freiermuth, seconded by Committee Member <br />Peterson to approve the August 7, 2019 minutes with the following corrections: delete <br />"Committee Member Chris Bettinger" from the roll call under Present and add the <br />following verbiage "to the park dedication fund" under New Business, Park Capital <br />Page 3 of 5 <br />
