to Planning & Zoning Commission <br />November 13, 2019 <br />________________________________________________________________________ <br />ADMINISTRATION <br />erville Elementary School Plat <br />On 10/29 School and City staff, presented the options for homeowners of either including <br />the gap parcels on the school plat or taking possession of the area for themselves. <br />Residents asked to have the gap parcels staked. The school plans to have surveyors out <br />to do so in the next few weeks and will send paperwork for the quit claim deeds. The <br />residents will then be given a time frame in which to accept the property or yield it to the <br />school. <br />Rebranding <br />The Rebranding Committee has now seen several iterations of the proposed new logo and <br />continues to give input on the design. On <br />next tasks will be to formulate a roll-out plan and develop a tag line. <br /> <br />City Hall Excess Property <br />Staff took input from the Council, at their last meeting, about interest in marketing excess <br />property on the City Hall/Fire Station campus for sale to a <br />direction was to investigate whether the land might be better used as a site for a future <br />public works garage, funded through the sale of the existing public works building. Staff <br />is working to complete this evaluation. <br /> <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />Economic Development Authority (EDA) <br />EDA Revolving Loan and Grant Program <br />The EDA has received and its first application for grant assistance through the Business <br />Incentive Revolving Loan and Grant Program. The application, from the Southern Rail <br />bar was evaluated and approved at a special meeting on October 23. The grant will assist <br />with the replacement of the existing garage on site which has fallen into disrepair. Part of <br />the requirements of the grant will be to add architectural elements to the garage, such as <br />accent lighting, cornice detail, gable shakes or decorative door hardware. Demolition of <br />the old garage and construction of the new one should begin soon. <br />City Owned Property Initiatives <br />ed transfer of city-owned property to the <br />EDA, the EDA looked to support the marketing of those properties by directing staff to <br />seek the services and opinions of commercial realtors. Staff has since engaged realtor <br />Mike Brass about the downtown properties and he will be presenting his thoughts on <br /> <br />
