Promotional Video <br />The initial shoot for the economic development promotional video was completed, on <br />Saturday, 10/27 and a first draft of the video is now complete. It features footage of <br />Commerce Drive industrial buildings, the Townoffice Park/Eagle Brook office building, <br />vacant industrial land along Fairview, vacant commercial land on Main Street, Main <br />Street mini-malls and our downtown. <br />Strategic Plan <br />At their October meeting, the EDA began discussing their strategic plan for 2020. The <br />group intends to present this plan to the City Council in January in an effort to better <br />communicate their goals and objectives. <br />Minnesota Technology Corridor <br />Bruce Sayler from Connexus Energy and Jacquel Hajder from Anoka County Regional <br />Economic Development are setting up meetings with United Properties to further discuss <br />the marketing of the 60 acres of property on Fa <br />Minnesota Technology Corridor. <br /> <br />We have also reached out to Atomic Data; a local company, offering colocation data <br />centers, hoping they may be interested in discussing our MN Tech Corridor initiative. <br /> <br />Anoka County Regional Economic Development (ACRED) <br />Upcoming Events: <br /> November 14th <br />cities are welcome to attend for free) 8:00AM-12:00PM <br /> November 21st <br />7:30-9:00 AM <br /> <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />Comprehensive Plan <br />Staff and consultants have now resubmitted the sewer portion of the comprehensive plan <br />ff for informal review. Once we get their <br />approval, we will resubmit all remaining items, through the formal process. <br />Downtown Zoning Changes <br />A few months ago, the P&Z Commission recommended approval of some changes to the <br />downtown zoning districts (M1, M2). The City Council, then approved these changes. <br />However, prior to publishing, staff noticed some issues with the language. Since the <br />ordinances had not been published, they had not become official, so simple revisions <br />could be made without going back through the public hearing process. Staff is presenting <br />those changes to the City Council at their next meeting. The changes make sure that <br />accessory structures in the downtown follow the same guidance as other places in the <br />code. The revised staff memo and language are attached to this packet. <br /> <br /> <br />
