Embedded System, Inc. – Emergency Siren Maintenance Contract <br /> <br />Mayor Paar provided an opportunity for Council to add or remove any item(s) to the consent <br />agenda. <br /> <br />Council Member Montain requested that Item #4 be pulled for discussion. He stated that he had <br />concerns regarding the Anoka County wide upgrades with sirens and their replacements. Council <br />Member Love questioned the cost difference from last year to this year’s contact. Administrator <br />Statz stated that he believe the cost was the same. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Montain, seconded by Council Member Koski to Table Item #4 <br />and Approve Items #1-3 as Presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />VIII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />st <br />1. Ordinance #XX, - Second Series – Fee Schedule Changes (1 Reading) <br /> <br />Administrator Statz stated that previously Council approved the changes recommended by Staff <br />for adding Private Fire Hose Connection Rates (Access Charge and Management Fee) but desired <br />additional information in regards to the Water System Management Fee for Commercial properties <br />being based on REUs with a cap rather than just a base fee. He stated that Council understood that <br />several entities such as the school and church had many SAC/REU units and would potentially be <br />adversely affected. He also stated that discussion was had at capping the units at 2-5 as the <br />multiplier as the increase would be minimal. <br /> <br />Administrator Statz stated that with the presented amendment, it was proposed as utilizing the <br />maximum of 5 as the multiplier. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued as to a reasonable number, recouping City expenditures associated with <br />providing the services and examples of the top 20 businesses that this would affect. Administrator <br />Statz stated that the purpose of the first and second readings of an ordinance is for understanding, <br />clarification and discussion. <br /> <br />No action was taken on this item. <br /> <br />Page 3 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
