CITY OF CENTERVILLE REQUEST <br />FOR COMMITTEE ACTION <br />77, <br />1tervi e <br />Agenda Item # <br />Department: <br />Requested Meeting Date: <br />V.l <br />Parks <br />December 4, 2019 <br />TITLE OF ISSUE: <br />19-011 Lighting for Sledding Hill <br />BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br />Previously, staff shared a quote to run power to the sledding hill for a pole mounted light. The quote was <br />higher than originally expected, because we were looking at running power out there for a flow meter for the <br />stormwater irrigation system. When a solar option for the flow meter was explored, it left the full cost of power <br />to the pole on the park budget. The committee then asked staff to look into a solar option for the light. <br />Since all of this discussion, the city has received a grant through Met Council to improve the stormwater <br />irrigation system. With this grant, the city is now looking back at the more reliable power source for the meter, <br />meaning power may be available for a light pole, at no cost to the parks budget.
