City Administrator <br />1880 Main St. <br />Centerville MN 55038 <br /> <br />Mr. Larson, <br /> <br />During the state mandated tobacco sales compliance check that I conducted on June 20th <br />2006 one of the businesses in your city that are licensed to sell tobacco failed the check. I <br />directed an underage buyer into these businesses for the purposes of ensuring that the <br />businesses are taking the appropriate measures to sell their tobacco products to adults. <br />The business that failed the compliance check is listed below. <br /> <br />Comer Express <br /> <br />1990 Main St. <br /> <br />The employee that sold the tobacco to the underage buyer was cited for the violation <br />under state statue 609.685. This violation is a misdemeanor. I am advising you of the <br />violation since this sale to the underage buyer is also a violation of your city ordinance. <br />Because of this, there may be civil sanctions that you can impose on the tobacco license <br />holder for these businesses.
