City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />January 8, 2020 <br />redevelopment project, the importance of servicing LaMotte Park and Hidden Spring Park with <br />the project and private property housing City equipment that potentially could be sold in the future. <br />Motion by Council Member Love, seconded by Council Member Koski to Approve Consent <br />Agenda Items #4, 6 & 7 as Presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />VIII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. None. <br /> <br />IX. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. econd Series (First Reading) <br />Administrator Statz stated that the presented Ordinance incorporates changes from the previous <br />meeting relating to water base rates along with electrical fees being adjusted slightly to coincide <br />s that he provides service to. <br />City Attorney Glaser stated that this is the first reading and no action is needed. <br />2. <br />Mr. Carter Johnson, Press Publications introduced himself to Council, stated that they have 30 full- <br />time equivalent employees, they provide benefits to their employees and appreciate the partnership <br />that they have with the City. He stated that they continue to grow and have recently added new <br />technology (job board, search engine, and the ability to boost advertisements. He also stated that <br />the paper is available in various forms (print, on line, etc.) He stated that subscriptions are <br />available. <br />Council thanked Mr. Johnson for the working partnership that are had, the coverage of events and <br />honesty of the writing. <br />Lengthy discussion ensued regarding the previous discussion of attempting to accommodate <br />individuals and their schedules with regards to meetings and the Police and Fire meetings are <br />extremely active at this time with the impending retirements of staff. Administrator Statz stated <br />that he had highlighted several areas which could be modified. <br />Administrator Statz made a suggestion that Council Member Lakso serve on the Anoka County <br />Fire Protection Council and making Council Member Montain an alternate. Council Member Love <br />offered to be an alternate on the Planning & Zoning Commission. Mayor Paar offered to serve on <br />the EDA. Discussion ensued regarding the use of Outlook for sending invites as reminders to <br />Council Members about upcoming meetings. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member Lakso to Approve the 2020 <br />Appointment with the Following Changes: Appoint Council Member Lakso to serve on the <br />Anoka County Fire Protection Council w/Council Member Montain the Alternate; Mayor <br />Paar to serve on the EDA.
