City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />January 22, 2020 <br /> <br />PRESENT: Acting Mayor D. Love <br />Council Member Russ Koski <br />Council Member Matt Montain <br /> <br />ABSENT: Mayor Jeff Paar <br />Council Member Michelle Lakso <br /> <br />STAFF: City Administrator Mark Statz <br /> City Attorney Glaser <br /> Finance Director DeJong <br /> <br />II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Love provided an opportunity for others to add or delete any items. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Love stated that Check #33254-33258 were added and 1464-1468E were added <br />along with changing the January 22, 2019 date to 2020. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Montain, seconded by Council Member Koski to Approve the <br />Agenda with the Above Stated Modifications. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />IV. APPOINTMENTS/PRESENTATIONS <br /> <br />1. EDA Strategic Plan – Jeff Hanzal, EDA President <br /> <br />Mr. Jeff Hanzal, President of the EDA introduced himself to Council and stated that the <br />EDA Vice President, Jim Weatherhead was also present. He reviewed the presented <br />materials which included recapping 2019 accomplishments and reviewing their 2020 <br />Objectives. <br /> <br />Mr. Hanzal stated that the Authority worked closely with a videographer to create a <br />marketing tool to market Centerville. Administrator Statz played the video for Council. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding the key elements of the video such as focus on land <br />availability, redevelopment and drawing people in from a business perspective. It was <br />anticipated that the video could be placed on the EDA web site and be presented at local <br />economic events. Council Member Love thanked the Authority for their work. Council <br />Member Koski stated that it was a great depiction of what they have accomplished over <br />the past year and an understanding of their vision and goals. <br /> <br />V.
