<br />STORMWATER/WETLAND <br />LaMotte Park Stormwater Reuse System Expansion <br />The contractor has begun work on the stormwater irrigation project in LaMotte Park. <br />They will be installing the large gun-style sprinklers first and then the smaller systems on <br />the Church Property and St. Paul Regional Water Services property and in Hidden Spring <br />Park. <br /> <br />SEWER AND WATER <br />Wellhead Protection Plan <br />A Public Hearing on the Plan was held on September 9. No significant comments were <br />received. A draft of the Part II Plan will be sent to the Minnesota Department of Health for <br />review and comment. <br /> <br />2020 Downtown Street and Utility Improvements <br />The contractor has now completed the installation of water services into homes that have <br />opted to hook to city water. Their plumber will be going from home to home, <br />disconnecting the well and connecting into the new city water line. For homes that <br />choose to keep their wells, the plumbers will hook the well line to a hose bib. The street <br />construction crew continues road building activities and is nearing completion of the <br />subgrade work at the time of this report. Curb and gutter will be poured next week, with <br />pavement the following week. Black dirt and sod restoration will follow. <br /> <br />Recently, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) called to say they would be <br />stopping out to our job site to do a random in <br />Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES). These inspections are rare and can <br />have very serious consequences (fines) if thi <br />all deficiency which the contractor was <br />able to fix in short order. No fines or other actions were taken by the MPCA. This is <br />testament to both our contractor and engineer for their diligence in keeping our site <br />compliant with agency rules. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
