City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />September 9, 2020 <br /> <br /> <br />Administrator Statz stated that he desired to have the information available prior to this meeting <br />but is was unavailable due to the ever-changing process. He reviewed the forms that Finance <br />Director DeJong completed with Council. <br /> <br />Council discussed that they were comfortable with funding based on the categories. Council <br />Member Koski stated that Staff did a very good job on the reporting. Mayor Love stated that if <br />additional approvals were needed in between sessions of Council meetings the reports could be <br />placed on the Consent Agenda. He stated that he felt that the forms could be modified through <br />November 15 and Council would retain ability to retract an item. Finance Director DeJong stated <br />that some of the election expenditures have not received funding through Anoka County but once <br />received the forms would be modified accordingly. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Montain, seconded by Council Member Koski to Approve the <br />September COVID-19 September Submittal as Presented. A Roll-call vote was taken. <br />Mayor Love and Council Members Lakso, Koski, Montain & Wilharber voted in favor. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />IX. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Wellhead Protection Plan, Part 2 <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member Montain to Close the <br />Public Hearing at 7:50 p.m. A Roll-call vote was taken. Mayor Love and Council Members <br />Lakso, Koski, Montain & Wilharber voted in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />City Administrator Statz stated that the plan has been submitted to local jurisdictions and MN <br />Department of Health for their comments. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member Lakso to Adopt the <br />Wellhead Protection Plan, Part 2 as Submitted. A roll-call vote was taken. Mayor Love and <br />Council Members Koski, Lakso, Montain & Wilharber voted in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> 2. Awarded Contract to Crawford Merz (Council Chambers, Lobby and <br />Vestibule) <br /> <br />City Administrator Statz stated that the current contact has been awarded to Crawford Merz at <br />Council’s previous meeting. He stated that the base bid would be Council Chambers, the lobby <br />and the vestibule. He stated that staff looked at several options and one was a $700,000 package <br />and one was a $300,000 package. He said that the more extensive package that was considered <br />had a hallway into to the fire hall, shared bathrooms and rearranged offices. He showed the <br />rearranged offices and stated that it takes out cabinets and places two additional offices on the west <br />wall, moves the A/V room and allows physical separation of all staff members and works well. <br />He also stated that staff believes that this modification would be eligible for CARES Act Funding. <br />He stated that the renovation would be providing a wall and door for staff which would provide <br />for a safe work environment. He stated that the Receptionist would have a larger area but remain <br />safe from other staff members.
