CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION COUNCIL MEETING <br />November 12, 2020 <br />5:00 p.m./6:30 p.m. <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held their regularly scheduled <br />City Council Work Session & Council Meeting on July 22, 2020 via Zoom <br />Videoconferencing at: https://zoom.us/j/478824301, Meeting ID: 478 824 301 with audio only <br />available at: 312-626-6799. The meeting was also live streamed by North Metro TV. <br />WORK SESSION <br />I.CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor D. Love called the work session to order at 5:01 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Mayor D. Love <br />Not Approved <br />Council Member Russ Koski <br />Council Member Michelle Lakso <br />Council Member Tom Wilharber <br />Council Member Matt Montain <br />ABSENT: None. <br />STAFF: City Administrator Mark Statz <br />Finance Director Bruce DeJong <br />d to mean that the noted individuals were visibly and audibly <br />present on the videoconference call. <br />II.ITEMS OF DISCUSSION <br />1.Administrator Performance Review Process <br />Mayor Love stated that he has been providing the Personnel Committee with monthly performance <br />reviews for the City Administrator since he took the position of Mayor in March. He stated that <br />they had not been forwarded to Administrator Statz as this was not the procedure approved by the <br />Committee. He stated throughout his tenure he has been passing verbal feedback to Administrator <br />Statz but the written reports are more in depth and should be reviewed by the Committee prior to <br />forwarding to Administrator Statz. He reported that when the Personnel Committee met with <br />Administrator Statz regarding his yearly Performance Review the reports were reviewed with them <br />and forwarded to Administrator Statz. <br />The Personnel Committee felt that Council should consider this process to ensure that all members, <br />if desired to participate, could. Council Member Montain felt that providing timely feedback was <br />important, the process was productive and assists in the end re <br />Performance Review. Mayor Love asked Administrator Statz for his input. Administrator Statz <br />stated that he felt that having the comments/suggestions in writing held more weight, were helpful <br />and that it reinforced timelines and affirmation was receptive. He stated that he felt it was a great <br />tool for receiving feedback that was timely. <br />1 <br /> <br />
