City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />November 12, 2020 <br />1. None. <br /> <br />V. PUBLIC HEARINGS/INPUT <br />1. Delinquent Utilities, Garbage/Recycling and Nuisance/City Abatement Services, Etc. <br />ththst <br />(4-6 Billing Cycles of 2019 & 1-3rd Billing Cycles of 2020 (Utilities & <br />Garbage/Recycling) & Nuisance/City Abatement, Etc. Through November, 2020. <br />Such Amounts will be Assessed to Parcel Identification Number Through County <br />Property Tax Statements Payable in 2021 <br /> <br />Administrator Statz reminded Council that a Public Hearing would need to be opened for this item. <br />He stated that annually the City certifies outstanding utilities, garbage and recycling fees along <br />with services the City may have provided to assist residents with completed code violation <br />abatements. He stated that they fees will be forwarded to the County for processing and placing <br />the amounts on taxpayer property taxes. He also stated that this is the time for obtaining input <br />from residents for these same charges if they are appealing. City Attorney stated that there is no <br />reason not to adopt these fees at this time. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Wilharber, seconded by Council Member Koski to open the <br />public hearing at 6:46 p.m. A roll-call vote was taken. Mayor Love and Council Members <br />Koski, Lakso, Montain & Wilharber voted in favor. Motion carried. <br />Mayor Love asked if any members of the audience had questions. <br />Mr. Steve King, 1724 Sorel Street, asked what the advantages the residents are receiving by not <br />paying their bills on time. Administrator Statz stated that he did not believe that these fees could <br />s. He stated that the City is similar to a credit card company <br />with charging fees and he is unsure that there is an advantage to having it placed on their property <br />taxes. <br /> <br />Mayor Love provided an opportunity for public input and none was received. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Montain, seconded by Council Member Koski to Close the <br />Public Hearing at 6:49 p.m. A roll-call vote was taken. Mayor Love and Council Members <br />Koski, Lakso, Montain & Wilharber voted in favor. Motion carried. <br />VI. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES <br />1. None. <br /> <br />VII.
