CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: <br />April 28, 2021 <br />Administration <br />_WS 3 <br />TITLE OF ISSUE: <br />Placemaking <br />BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br />As part of the 2021 Goals, we identified "Placemaking" as a priority. The City's EDA has also identified this <br />endeavor as a part of their strategic plan. A first step to that is the banners that the EDA has purchased, hoping <br />to put on the city's light poles (see later in the agenda). One of the next steps seems to be exploring city entrance <br />monuments or, perhaps, a single, welcome monument in the center of town. <br /> <br />Staff would like to discuss the strategies for planning this next step, including : potential business participation, <br />monument locations, funding, branding and defining a role for the EDA and Parks Committee.
