City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />December 11, 2019 <br /> <br />through mid-August. Administrator Statz stated that the City is looking for a volunteer coordinator <br />for the event. <br /> <br />b. Love – <br /> <br />i. Police Governing Board – Council Member Love stated that he <br />attended the meeting where an officer was sworn in, Life Saving and <br />Stork awards were given along with discussions regarding renewal of <br />Officer and Sergeant contracts. He also reported that discussions also <br />took place regarding body cameras, increase in auditor fees and <br />Chaplain Heckman’s completion of 8 years of service with the <br />Department. <br />ii. Economic Development Authority – Council Member Love stated that <br />the EDA is considering contracting with Broker, Mr. Mike Brass to <br />provide renderings of buildings for the City owned property at 1737 <br />Main Street. He also stated that the site is unique and without an eye <br />for visioning, prospective buyers may have difficulty visualizing a <br />building and use of the property. City Administrator Statz stated that <br />rendering would also include pricing for a speculative building assisting <br />a developer in determining a rate of return. <br /> <br />c. Koski <br /> <br />i. Planning & Zoning Commission – Council Member Koski stated that <br />the Planning & Zoning Commission meeting was cancelled. <br /> <br />ii. Fire Steering Committee – Council Member Koski stated that no <br />meeting was held. He congratulated Mr. Tedd Peterson on the <br />completion of his 20 years of service and hoped he had a speedy <br />recovery following surgery. Administrator Statz stated that the <br />Centennial Fire Department Station 3 hired two (2) new part-time <br />firefighters. Administrator Statz stated that six (6) candidate have <br />applied for volunteer firefighter and that they would be making offers <br />to two (2) candidates. He reported that the Fire District is looking for <br />duty-crew individuals which would remedy additional costs and provide <br />for staffing during day-time hours. He encouraged individuals to <br />become a part of their community by volunteering. <br /> <br />d. Montain <br /> <br />i. North Metro Telecommunications Commission – Council Member <br />Montain stated that both the November and December meetings were <br />cancelled and that the North Metro TV is available on Roku and <br />AppleTV. <br /> <br />ii. Anoka Fire Protection Board – Council Member Montain stated that <br />a special meeting was held where a motion was passed for the budget <br />Page 8 of 9 <br /> <br /> <br />
