City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />December 11, 2019 <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Love, seconded by Council Member Montain to Authorize Two <br />(2) Members of Council (Council Member Koski and Mayor Paar) to Attend. All in favor. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. None. <br /> <br />X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />1. Administrator’s Report <br /> <br />Administrator Statz stated that his report was forwarded to Council via email and that he <br />would answer any questions that were asked. Mayor Paar also stated that the Financial <br />Reports were forwarded via email. <br /> <br />Finance Director DeJong stated that several investments due to the need of paying the <br />previously discussed bond and debt payment of over 1.4 million in January and a street <br />project in the summer. He also stated that staff is diligently seeking investment avenues <br />and working on a cash flow plan for the next five years. <br /> <br />City Attorney Glaser entered into a new partnership with four (4) additional attorneys who <br />will be representing up to nine (9) cities. <br /> <br />Council Reports <br />a. Lakso – <br /> <br />i. Parks and Recreation Committee – Council Member Lakso preferred <br />to have someone that attended provide a recap. <br />ii. Economic Development Authority – Council Member Lakso stated <br />that comments were made regarding the marketing video that has been <br />made with an attempt to showcase the community and available <br />properties for sale owned by the City and the technology corridor. She <br />explained that the EDA is considering producing a rendering of <br />proposed buildings that could fit on 1737 Main Street as the parcel is <br />unique and of smaller size. <br />iii. Fire Steering Committee – Council Member Lakso stated that there <br />was no meeting was held. <br /> <br />Administrator Statz gave a review of the December 4, 2019 meeting. He stated that the first of <br />two (2) Skate/Sled nights would be held on January 10, 2020. He reported that this would be the <br />first year in several that there would not be horse drawn hayrides. He did stated that a <br />representative of Wargo Nature Center would have kick sledding, snowshoeing and fat-tire bikes <br />available for individuals to utilize. He reported that the Committee approved usage of the hockey <br />rink for might teams and the Centennial Little Leagues use of the baseball fields during the <br />summer. He stated that the Committee was looking to host a new event which will coincide with <br />the Waterski Show on Thursday evenings (farmers market/food trucks vendors for mid-June <br />Page 7 of 9 <br /> <br /> <br />
