Water Service and the Met Council to allow the placement of the irrigation system on <br />their respective properties. <br /> <br />SEWER AND WATER <br /> <br />Wellhead Protection Plan <br />City staff have reviewed the draft of Part 2 <br />together by our consultants. Once our comments have been incorporated, we will submit <br />the plan to surrounding jurisdictions for review. A few highlights of the plan include future <br />projects such as sealing abandoned wells and fixing or lining leaking sewer mains and <br />services within the Emergency Response Area (ERA <br />well. <br /> <br />Watermain Interconnect <br />The new meter has been installed and we are waiting on the SCADA connection. <br /> <br />2020 Downtown Street and Utility Improvements <br />Construction has been suspended until pandemic conditions allow the entry into homes by <br />CenterPoint Energy (gas provider). Without this ability, the gas main replacement which <br />needs to happen ahead of road construction cannot move forward. Therefore, we have <br />stopped the installation of water main, to limit disturbance of the neighborhood streets, <br />given the uncertainty of how long these restrictions may last. <br /> <br />Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Reserve Maintenance Facility Sewer Hook-up County <br />parks staff has contacted the city requesting an extension of their sewer service to some new <br />office space at their maintenance facility in the regional park. <br /> <br />PARKS AND RECREATION <br /> <br />Committee Vacancy <br />The parks committee has one open seat. <br /> <br />Thursday Waterski Shows and Street Market <br />The Parks and Recreation Committee decided <br />to continue with the planning of the Main <br />Street Market event with the message to <br />vendors that full refunds would be given if the <br />pandemic cancelled the program. <br /> <br />Staff and the Parks Committee submitted a <br />grant application th <br />Statewide Health Improvement Programs <br />(SHIP) program, to cover some initial costs of <br />the Street Market and were successful! Once <br />details are finalized, we should receive around <br />$2,900 to purchase picnic tables, and help with <br />signage and advertising costs. <br /> <br />
