FINANCE <br />Bond Refunding <br />The city council reviewed bids, at their February 24 meeting, on a Bond Refunding. The <br />results of the bids will enable the city to save $67,000 over the next 7 years in interest <br />payments, reducing the debt levy. <br /> <br />COVID-19 Relief Programs <br />The city is closely monitoring the latest State and Federal relief packages to ensure we are <br />positioned to utilize funds as they become available. Recently, the U.S. House of <br />Representatives passed a $1.9 Trillion COVID Relief Package, which includes direct aid to <br />cities. The current version of the bill, which will now go to the Senate, has an estimated <br />$455,747 slated for Centerville. We continue to code our expenses related to the pandemic <br />separately from normal costs to make documenting our impacts easy. <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS/STREETS <br />City Hall Renovation <br />CITY HALL IS NOW OPEN! <br /> <br />Rush Line Corridor <br />The Rush Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project is a <br />proposed 15mile transit route with stops between <br />Union Depot in Lowertown Saint Paul and downtown <br />White Bear Lake. The Rush Line BRT Project includes <br />further exploration of connector bus service north to <br />Forest Lake, along with other transit system <br />improvements. See the handout in the packet for details <br />on the needs for the project.
